Navigation for stressful health situations
Mit Forløb is an app provided to people in need of a medical operation, examination, or another type of healthcare procedure. Here, it is crucial to ensure that navigation is as optimized as possible so users can find the information they need as quickly and stress-free as possible.

Focus on access and frictionless navigation
During my time at Visikon, the company behind the Mit Forløb app, we focused on an area we called accessibility. The overall goal was to ensure that each patient could move as quickly and effortlessly as possible from being assigned a course in the app to watching the first and most relevant material.
The focus included two main areas:
Ensure that as many people as possible access the materials and courses provided by the hospital.
Make the navigation as frictionless as possible, ensuring that users can find the answers and materials they are looking for.
This case is about the second part: navigation.
Throughout this write-up, I will take you through how we identified where to focus our efforts, created the test cases, conducted research in the field on the current solution, and documented the user tests. I will also share a small tip for documenting in-person mobile usability testing. Finally, I will describe how we created and designed improved versions of the navigation and which version we ultimately implemented.
