GearHealth
Wear alerts for bikes and shoes, for iPhone and iPad
GearHealth counts the kilometres and hours of your rides and runs, from Strava or Apple Health, and reminds you when a component needs a service or replacing: re-waxing a chain, bleeding the brakes, new tyres or a new pair of running shoes.
Getting started
Choose where your rides and runs come from: Strava (your bikes and shoes come along) or Apple Health (works with Apple Watch, Garmin, Wahoo, Komoot and more; you add your bikes and shoes yourself). Want to look around first? Choose “Try it with sample data”.
Then open a bike or a pair of shoes and add its components. Each type comes with suggested reminders, by distance, riding time or months, which you can change. When you’ve done a service, log it and the reminders you ticked start over.
Common questions
A ride doesn’t count toward a component. Rides count from the moment a component was installed, on the bike they were recorded on, and not while the component is archived. Open the ride in the Activities tab to see what it counted toward, and move it to another bike there if needed.
New rides don’t show up. GearHealth updates by itself soon after you upload a ride to Strava, when you open the app, and every few hours in the background. Pull down on the Gear tab to update right away.
Using an iPhone and an iPad. With iCloud sync on (Settings → iCloud), your gear, components and history are the same on every device signed in to your Apple Account. Rides and runs come from Strava or Apple Health on each device.
Removing your data. Disconnect Strava in the app’s Settings to remove GearHealth’s access and its Strava data. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the phone.
