CardioGearTracker — Privacy Policy

CardioGearTracker helps you track wear on your bikes and running shoes, so you know when a chain, a set of tyres or a pair of shoes is due for service. The short version of this policy: your data stays on your iPhone. There is no CardioGearTracker account and no server of ours that your data is sent to.
What the app stores
Your bikes and shoes, the parts you track, their service history, your imported rides and runs, and your settings are stored only on your device, inside the app. We cannot see any of it.
Apple Health
If you choose Apple Health as your activity source, the app asks your permission to read workouts — cycling and running — along with their distance and duration. This data is read on your device, used only to calculate wear on your gear, and is never transmitted anywhere, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with anyone. You can withdraw access at any time in the Health app under Sharing, and the app will simply stop importing new workouts.
Strava
If you choose Strava as your activity source, you sign in with your own Strava account. The app then talks directly to Strava's API from your device to fetch your gear and your activities. The access tokens this requires are stored on your device only, and disconnecting Strava in Settings removes them. What Strava itself does with your data is covered by Strava's own privacy policy.
What the app does not do
There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party tracking code in the app. No accounts are created, and no data is ever sold, rented or shared.
Notifications
Reminders that a part is due for service are created on your device and shown by iOS. Their contents never leave your phone.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it has stored, including all Health and Strava data it imported. Nothing is kept anywhere else.
Beta testing through TestFlight
While the app is distributed as a beta through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may provide us with crash reports and any feedback you choose to send through TestFlight. That is handled by Apple and covered by Apple's privacy policy. It contains no Health or Strava data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top.
